It has been almost 5 years since I self-published my first Pride & Prejudice variation and I am finally launching my website and this blog! I thought for this first entry I would share a little of what I expect to share going forward in the blog and on the site generally.
My writing:
I’ll share updates about what I am working on
right now I have 2 P & P WIPs
a variation which changes something about the Gardiners that give Lizzy earlier and more intimate connections with the Darcy’s. I am publishing chapters on Ao3 and FF
a modern variation (my only one so far) that sets the story in a world familiar to me – the evangelical church. I published a start to this years ago on FF, but am updating and editing it and hoping to get to adding new content soon. When I have it cleaned up a little, I will start to post again on FF and Ao3 but for now might start sharing here
I have several original works at various stages of writing and editing. I haven’t published these on any fanfiction or other sites, but will start sharing about them here
I’ll share some different POVS. I have never done a dual POV story and sometimes I just want you all to know what Dracy is thinking and feeling more directly. I’m looking forward to writing and sharing some of these
My cats!
I have 3 of the most adorable feline companions and I anticipate that I will not be able to resist sharing pics of them and stories about the ways they make the world so much better! So get ready for some cat-content. I have no doubt everyone will fall in love with Scrumpy, Eddie and Pepper!
Family
I am one of four sisters (#2 - the best spot), have been married to an amazing man for almost 24 years (anniversary approaching) and have 2 exasperating and wonderful daughters (14 and 19).
History
US history is one of my favorite subjects and I also have some specfic periods and places that I also love to read about (both fiction and non). These include British history from the Plantagenets though Elizabeth I. This is a case where truth is stranger, and more intersting, than fiction. Also Czarist Russia through the Bolshevik revolution. This is not an endorsement of the divine right of kings! These are just very interesting people living through very interesting times.
The Patriots
I am a lifelong fan and when training camp starts my mind is invariably at Gillete (or on the road depending). Though we all long for the days when the Super Bowl was also known as the Patriots last game of the season there is plenty of reason for optimism for the upcoming season. Go Pats!
Disney
I've been to Disneyworld more than any human has a right to! I can't help it - it is a magical place. I love to talk about our trips and even generally what Disney is up to. My follow on this is DFB guide. Their videos make me happy and keep me up to date on all the latest Disney happenings!
I have no doubt there will be other things, people and ideas that I canvas in this space. We’ll see, but I am excited to begin!
